Cách dùng với từ "Like"

Thông thường, khi nhắc tới "Like", các bạn thường nghĩ ngay đến từ loại là "Động từ" của nó, và cách dùng thông thường phổ biến nhất của nó là LIke + V-ing.

Ex: She likes hanging out at weekends.

I. Like (Preposition)

1. Like = similar :similar to something else, or happening in the same way:

Ex: He eats like a pig!

2. Like follows a linking verb, such as look, sound, feel, taste, seem, etc.

Ex: He felt like a real winner.

3. Like: what is somebody/something like? used in spoken language when asking someone to describe or give their opinion of a person or thing:

Ex: What are your parents like?

4. Like = for example

Ex: Try to avoid fatty foods like cakes and biscuits.

II. Like (Noun)

1. Like in "somebody's likes and dislikes": the things that someone likes and does not like:

Ex: We all have our own likes and dislikes when watching films.

2. Like in "and the like/and such like" and similar things: Cái này thường được dùng trong văn viết, thay vì dùng 'and so on, hoặc etc.", các bạn dùng and the like hoặc and such like

Ex: They believed that the government would spend much more money on health, education, and the like.

III. Like (Adj)

Like + Noun: similar in some way

Ex: They get on well together because they are of like mind.
