Note:
Graduation from high school and admission to college entails some specific requirements. Examples of such requirements are a full year of standard English classes as well as one semester each of civics and economics. If a tentative Grade 12 student is not prepared to complete all the requirements in one year, the placement will be changed to Grade 11, and the student will need to prepare for and complete the requirements in two years.
A TOEFL score of 80 or higher is required for Grade 12 admission consideration.

Accreditation is an incredibly important facet of your education. Without accreditation, you will find yourself with a degree employers do not respect. Attending an unaccredited program can mean that you will not be eligible for federal financial aid, you will not be able to transfer credits to another school, and you will not be able to obtain appropriate professional licensure in your field.
What is Accreditation?
Most define accreditation as a status which shows the public that a school has met and is maintaining a high level of standards set by an accrediting agency. Accreditation agencies look for different attributes depending on the type of school and most specialize it certain kinds of learning institutions. Additionally, almost all institutions must commit to periodic and unannounced external reviews as well as a rigorous internal review programs to ensure that accreditation standards are continually being met.

Mọi người đếu nghĩ đến du học tại Mỹ, nhưng có bao nhiêu người thật sự thông hiểu system tại Mỹ? Nếu thật sự cả nhà muốn đầu tư vào tương lai của mình thì hãy chọn những trường được accreditated.

Còn thật sự muốn qua Mỹ vì 1 mục đích khác thì hãy chọn những trường non-accreditated đề dễ dàng xin I-20 và visa hơn.
Vậy accreditation là gì?
Accreditation- Sự đánh giá về chất lượng và giá trị của văn bằng theo từng ngành học và trường học
Cơ quan kiểm định điều tra (accreditation agencies) sẽ luôn theo dõi và xét duyệt mỗi năm để đánh giá xem liệu một trường học có đáp ứng đầy đủ các tiêu chuẩn nhất định không. Nếu có, các trường học sẽ được cấp hồ sơ chứng minh họ đủ điều kiện để cấp bằng cho học viên. Nếu không được sự công nhận đó, các bằng cấp của trường sẽ được xem là không hợp pháp.

Tuy nhiên, sự đánh giá đó ở rất nhiều mức độ khác nhau. Nhận được bằng cấp bởi 1 trường chính qui hoàn toàn là điếu cần thiết nếu bạn hy vọng sẽ thu được những thành công trong sự nghiệp sau này và tiếp tục học lên cao. Do đó bạn phải để ý đến các ban sở xét duyệt sự accreditation (công nhận) của trường học. Nếu trường của bạn không nhận được sự đánh giá từ một uỷ ban uy tín, đối với các nhà tuyển dụng thì tấm bằng của bạn chỉ mang tính hình thức và được đổi bằng tiền chứ không phải kiến thức chuyên môn.

Để được accreditated, mỗi chương trình của các trường học phải có thể chứng minh rằng nó đáp ứng đầy đủ hoặc vượt các tiêu chuẩn được trao ra cho mỗi ngành nghề. Đối với hầu hết các lĩnh vực, một số tổ chức của các chuyên gia dày dạn xét lập những phép đo chất lượng. Ví dụ, nếu bạn muốn nghiên cứu kỹ thuật, bạn muốn có một chương trình đã được công nhận bởi ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.), ban này sẽ xem xét không chỉ các chương trình đào tạo, mà còn là chất lượng học tập mà các học viên sẽ nhận được trong quá trình học tập của ở trường đó đủ đáp ứng tiêu chuẩn của các nhà tuyển dụng hay không

Các tổ chức kiểm định một trường cao đẳng, trường đại học, hoặc chương trình dạy nghề là một chỉ số quan trọng của chất lượng giáo dục. Trường của bạn phải được đánh giá bởi một cơ quan kiểm định có tiêu chuẩn, chất lượng cao và nổi tiếng thì bằng bận nhận được mói có giá trị với số tiền và sự cố gắng của bạn trao ra. Nhưng thật sự có rất nhiều cơ quan kiểm định tốt và xấu kể cả "cơ quan kiểm định" giả với các trang web thật hoành tráng.

Các cơ quan kiểm định nổi tiếng và được chấp nhận rộng rãi nhất ở Hoa Kỳ là :

Tham dự một chương trình được công nhận cũng mang lại nhiều lợi ích. Thường thì các trường khi được công nhận sẽ đảm bảo rằng các sự chuyển giao của học viên giữa các trường sẽ dễ dàng được chấp nhận. Sinh viên/học sinh tại các tổ chức được công nhận có đủ điều kiện để nhận hỗ trợ tài chính từ liên bang, và nhận được học bổng hoặc việc làm thử tại các công ty uy tín . Hơn nữa, sau khi đã trải qua một quá trình kiểm định chất lượng có nghĩa là tổ chức đó đáp ứng một tiêu chuẩn cao về chất lượng giáo dục và cả tiêu chuẩn cần thiết của một nhân viên thuộc ngành học đó và khả năng sinh viên kiếm được việc làm trong ngành nghề đó sẽ cao hơn rất nhiều.
