Chồng mình đang là NCS ở Canada, mình xin visa theo chồng cũng là visa visitor thôi. Trước đây khi đọc trong CIC mình cũng thắc mắc như bạn, nhưng do các chị đi trước tư vấn như vậy nên mình cũng nộp hồ sơ xin Open work permit tại Canada (khi nộp hồ sơ xin WP thì gửi cả bản sao tiếng ANh hoặc Pháp của giấy ĐKKH, bản sao hộ chiếu + attestation + inscription v.v... của người có Study Permit nữa) và đã nhận đc WP sau khoảng 1 tháng nộp đủ hồ sơ và lệ phí. Giờ mình có WP rồi nhưng cái phần bạn quote ở trên mình vẫn thấy khó hiểu :D. Nhưng túm lại là những người có vợ (chồng) đang có Study Permit thì khi sang Canada đều có thể xin đc Open Work permit dù visa người đó là visa Visitor.

Hi Huu_Loc, I have spent nearly all day to think about your question. Let me answer your question based on my personal experience. As for me, I spent a lot of time for listening skill. When I was a first year, student, I listened to VOA special English and wrote it down everymoning. Besides, I listened to Headway, Streamline A and B a lot of times. I tried to practise listening C level but I couldn't, it was to hard for me to catch up. When I was in my second year, I watched a lot of films on HBO, Starmovies with subtitles and also watched CNN, BBC... From my third year, I had a part-time job and studied Chinese so I didn't study English by myself anymore beside school. However hard I tried to practise listening skills (for 2 years of working really hard), until now I still couldn't watch English film without subtitles, couldn't hear CNN or BBC properly... With all these above things, English listening skill is the most difficult for me. In daily conversations, I still survived because(1) I have never had a chance to talk to a native English speaker, I just talk to Asian people, (2) the vocabularies in daily life are not so academic as in news, (3) the speed in daily conversations is much slower and people whom i talked to can slow down if they see that I don't understand or I can use body language. I mentioned the daily conversations here because I think the purpose of studying English is very important. As for me, I study English to find a job so I just need basic knowledge and skills. For people who study English for doing research in English or have higher education in some English speaking countries, they need to put a lot more effort. I have a friend who got Ielts of 7 and went to Australia for MBA. In her first month in Australia, she said that she had to use the recorder at class because she couldn't understand anything the teacher said.
