"Using shocking undercover footage recorded in two major hospitals, this hour-long special exposes serious failings in UK maternity services.


BBC researcher Hayley Cutts worked as a volunteer in a hospital in North London and one in Manchester. In both maternity units she met midwives and patients who felt that under-staffing and lack of resources were affecting patient care. Covertly filmed footage shows scenes of chaos where staff are struggling to cope and women are being neglected.


Reporter Jeremy Vines asks why, with NHS spending at an all time high, women around the country are having dreadful experiences.
